According to WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Colorado saw the fastest rate of house-price growth last year  in the nation, according to CoreLogic data released Tuesday.

CoreLogic reported home-price growth in December that slipped 0.1% on the month, to take the year-on-year move to 5%. CoreLogic was measuring single-family homes, including distressed properties like foreclosures and short sales.

At 8.4%, Colorado saw the strongest growth, followed closely by Texas at 7.8% and New York at 7.6%.

This report by CoreLogic seems to match the data which I posted last month for CO at around 9% through November of 2014.

Artist Dale Chihuly blew up the art world by taking glass art form from small scale craft to large scale architectural installments. His pieces are groundbreaking examples of sculpture unique in the glass blowing community. His installation at the Denver Botanic Gardens is simply stunning. Stark contrasts of green grass and towering ruby red spires gleam in the daylight. Chihuly’s work lights up at night, glowing like magical glass castles reflected in the cool dark pools of Denver Botanic’s water gardens. The Denver Post recently announced Quentin Tarantino will film his entire next feature "Hateful Eight" in Colorado. As photogenic as Colorado is, naturally it has been the setting for many famous Hollywood films. Can you guess the title of these films? Scroll down for the answers.

The Fourth of July is coming up fast, have you made your plans? We've gathered a list of our favorites to give you some ideas for the big day. 

Why not start the day off at the Boulder Reservoir for their Star Spangled Splash? This day in the sun begins at 8am with a 5k, followed by a volleyball tournament at 10am. Grab some food from one of the food trucks that will be hanging out in the sand, and dance the afternoon away to the live DJ. This party ends at 6pm, and does not include fireworks, but is a great way to get a head start on celebrating.

Once you have your fun in the sun it's about time to settle in for a fireworks show. If you want to stay in Boulder, head on over to Folsom Field on the CU of Boulder
