Over the last year, Colorado has really put itself on the map for a variety of reasons, including recognition of the world class athletes participating in the Olympics, record breaking weather conditions and of course the recreational legalization of cannabis. At the heart of many of these top stories has been our beloved City of Boulder. Although we are known for our out-of-the-box outlook, we have solidified our rock solid reputation for being one of the most innovative, business savvy, and entrepreneurial places in America. More and more you notice Boulder, Colorado being mentioned by major media sources, as it is now recognized as the Front Range’s second most popular city. Come celebrate the Boulder International Film Festival’s 10th Anniversary with the rest of the City, now through February 16th, 2014! Ellie is Boxer Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed breed that has an adorable face and a sweet personality. 65 pounds with a playful spirit, Ellie tends to be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up to you she is your best friend forever. The 2014 Winter Olympics are finally here, with the Opening Ceremony airing in the US tonight at 6:30 pm on NBC! This highly anticipated ceremony is the highlight of the whole event and by far the most watched by viewers all over the world. It is an opportunity for all the athletes to wear their country’s uniform with pride and be in awe of the moment. For most people at home watching, especially if they have the grace of knowing someone who will be competing, the feeling is very similar and invokes a huge sense of national pride. The University of Colorado-Boulder is rated in the Top 100 Universities in the United States by US News. CU was founded in 1876 and the campus covers over 600 acres of land. It was ranked in the 86th position in the 2014 edition of Best Colleges, as well.

Over 300 clubs are found on campus, along with 40 fraternities and sororities. CU also provides NCAA Division 1 Pac-12 Conference sports teams named the Colorado Buffaloes, or the Buffs for short.

Whether students decide to leave the campus and enjoy one of the 11 ski slopes within three hours or they decide to stay on campus, there are plenty of activities found near CU. The University of Colorado provides a number of great events every year. Many of these events are found in athletics. The university is a part of the very competitive Pac-12 Conference and they provide a number of choices in athletics including:

The 1.5 mile boulevard of recovery facilities found in east Boulder has received a new member recently. CHARM or the Eco-Cycle's for Hart-to-Recycle Materials has moved to 6400 East Arapahoe Road. After 34 years at 5030 Pearl Street, this center will now call "Recycle Row" home.

ChaRM can recycle all types of materials including: Books, Bike Inner Tubes, Yoga Mats, Styrofoam, Toilets, Electronics and more!

This center will join the long stretch of other facilities able to recycle a number of different materials. There's a yard waste drop-off area, a full-blow recycling center and even a household hazardous materials facility located on this stretch in Boulder.

Boulder is a hotbed in the cycling world, and this week Boulder is excited and honored to be hosting the USA Cycling Cyclo-Cross National Championships.  Boulder is known worldwide for many things, but if you are into cycling you know it for its reputation for the sport!  Because of things like altitude training benefits, kick-ass terrain, community passion, and opportunities for local and national competitions, it's only natural that cycling Boulder is hosting the event.
