Stroll down Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, Colorado and you'll find yourself surrounded by a collection of fine dining, fashion boutiques, coffee shops, and outdoor adventure stores. This morning we'd like to highlight one of the Big Red F restaurants being featured in our Facebook contest: Centro Latin Kitchen.Last weekend we had the pleasure of sampling a few of their Central and South American dishes...and boy, were we impressed. After placing our dinner order with a friendly and attentive waiter, we sipped a refreshing glass of their Spanish Alabrino white wine and nippled on a delectable avocado appetizer.

So in the spirit of Christmas and family, take a break from cooking, decorating and wrapping to check out these two holiday-family events in Boulder and Denver.
Gingerbread Tea: Head down to the St. Julien Hotel & Spa for an afternoon of tea, gingerbread men and holiday piano music. The Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in Boulder
or as we simply like to call it “The RIO” has been a main staple in Boulder for over 20
years. It was originally located on East Pearl, but migrated to the old Piccolo Pete’s space
and has been a fixture at the corner of Walnut and 11th ever
since. If you are visiting Boulder for the first time the RIO
is a must visit, but keep in mind there truly is a reason why you are only
allowed to have three margaritas. I
fondly remember the night I chose to have four margaritas and when I say “remember”
I use the term loosely. The food is
good, a 7 on the 1 to 10 scale and reasonably priced. But it is the Margaritas that will keep you
coming back.
