Good Winter Mountain Bike Ride, Halls Ranch Lyons.

Here comes the snow wooohoo we need some, but it also means it is time to sneak in a winter ride before the snow hits.
One of the best winter rides is Halls Ranch in Lyons. Halls actually has two routes one from Apple Valley road and the other from the South Facing (better for winter) Route 7 South St Vrain Rd. The path from the parking lot will lead you to Bitterbrush trail where you will begin to climb through some technical single track you will crest the hill at about 1.5 miles where you will drop down into a valley. The trail becomes smoother at this point, but you will continue to climb until hook up with the Nelson loop, which can be ridden either way.
