Boulder High Schools

Arapahoe Ridge High School

Arapahoe Ridge is an alternative high school offering several options for students to work towards a diploma. During the freshman year, students choose one of several technical areas and begin developing proficiency in one of those fields. The junior and senior years focus on hands-on experience in a field, and the students attend classes at the Boulder Technical Education Center, a facility equipped with the tools to teach a variety of trades including; automotive technology, banking/service accounting, construction trades, cosmetology, a graphics communication program, and multimedia technology. The TEC Center is a certified vocational school and students graduate with at least one technical certificate. The school also offers the "newcomers" program. This is an ESL program geared towards immigrants and other students in need of intensive English training, before integrating into the normal high school system. For more information check out:

Boulder High School

This high school, founded in 1875, offers high academic standards and a variety of programs for students. The high school offers honors courses in almost every academic subject and offers 24 separate Advanced Placement courses, including courses in Japanese and Latin. The school's location next to the University of Colorado gives students access to the vast resources available at the school's Norlin Library. The school has a rich video-production program that has sent graduates to prestigious film schools such as New York University, and the school's performing arts programs have a reputation for excellence. The school offers a comprehensive tutoring system covering all subjects that allows motivated students to seek out individualized instruction. The school also offers a diverse ESL program educating students from 30 different countries speaking over 20 languages. The athletics department regularly competes for titles in many sports, and the football team has sent graduates to play on various Division-IA schools. Fairview High School

Fairview High School is true to its name offering a gorgeous view of Boulder's foothills visible from almost everywhere on the campus. The school has a record of high academic achievement, sending graduates to prestigious Ivy League schools as well as Berkeley, Stanford, and M.I.T. The school also offers the only International Baccalaureate program in the entire district whose director is a former Columbia University professor. The school offers Advanced Placement classes, four foreign languages, top-notch fine arts programs, and high-achieving athletics. The school also offers a daycare program for teen parents and provides parenting education. The school sends interested juniors and seniors to the technical education center to receive various technical certifications. The school offers a plethora of extracurricular activities including chess club, film production club, the volunteer mafia, and the underground republicans of Boulder. The school scores extremely well on CSAP tests and is rated "excellent" by the Colorado Department of Education. For more information, check out:
