Golden Colorado homes are priced on average in the low 300's. Equestrian properties and acreage is highly sought after, as buyers want their own slice of Golden's renowned scenery. The views from many Golden homes are breathtaking, yet Downtown Denver is only a half hour away.
The original town site of Golden has a friendly, small town atmosphere. Its historic main street features shops, galleries, and eateries, while the housing market has single family homes, condos, and townhouse properties for sale. Buyers can also still find a few turn of the century historic homes in Golden, as well as new construction. There has been a great deal of development on the outskirts of Golden, which features new homes, family friendly subdivisions, and upscale condominiums.
Public school education in Golden is provided by the Jefferson County School District (JEFFCO). Schools here have garnered a very good reputation for the quality of their education. Transportation to Denver and nearby metropolitan areas is easy thanks to the Regional Transportation District, which provides bus and light rail service throughout the Denver Metropolitan area, as well as Boulder and surrounding communities.
Golden Colorado Attractions
Golden is home to the Colorado School of Mines, the American Mountaineering Center, as well as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the Coors Brewing Company. In addition, there are several museums in the area, including the popular Colorado Railroad Museum, the Golden Pioneer Museum, the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, and more.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Golden is the perfect setting for hiking, rock climbing, hang gliding, river rafting, and also some of the best mountain biking terrain in the country. Culture buffs will enjoy visiting the Foothills Art Center, which offers art classes and exhibits in two historic buildings. Also calling Golden home is the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra and the Miners Alley Playhouse.
