To many folks Labor Day Weekend is a bittersweet end-of-summer weekend, to some it's the kick-off to football season, and to others it can be just a leisurely, lovely and long weekend to enjoy cook-outs, friends, family and down-time.  Boulder has many terrific opportunities to enjoy this last "official" end-of-summer weekend and here are a few of our favorite picks.

Boulder area schools are in full swing and back in action!  School playgrounds are filled with energetic and active kiddos. Families are walking hand-in-hand to and from school and it's a bit less challenging to find parking at Target.

BVSD continues to excel in comparison to the rest of state as seen by the latest standardized test scores. High school students tested particularly strong in math. The district also achieved gains in high school reading and writing from last year to this year.  Boulder Valley's composite ACT score was 23.5, up slightly from 23.4 the year before and well above the state average of 20.3.  Superintendent Messinger said the scores show the district "maintained its strengths." Recyclethon was a Huge Success-

Thank you to everyone who brought hard to recycle electronics to our annual event. It was fun to see everyone.  Numbers just in; 7,604 pounds of electronics to recycle.  11 CRT Monitors, 20 Televisions, 29 Certified Hard Drive Destruction.  All and all a great day!
