Hello, my name is Barb Passalacqua, and I am thrilled to join the team at BoulderHomeSource. Growing up in family of developers my infatuation with real estate began at an early age. My husband and I have bought and sold many properties in Boulder County over the last 20 years, so becoming a Realtor just made sense.

For me, helping people is a pleasure and I am good at advocating for my clients whether they are buying or selling. One client in particular was very rewarding. They have a daughter with severe allergies related to household toxins. They needed help fast. I found them a nice home that had no allergens but did have all the features they wanted in a second home. It was wonderful to see everyone happy and healthy in their new Boulder home.

It seems kids are learning academic skills sooner and faster than ever before, but is that enough to keep up with a highly competitive global economy? The next generation won't enter a world of 9 to 5 jobs they will retire from in 40 years. They will have to carve their own path. To do that, they'll need confidence, adaptability, appreciation and ingenuity. We encourage creative thinking, but it is time to push past that into actual creating. Maker Boulder is helping kids do just that. Maker Boulder is a growing community that hosts events throughout Boulder County, encouraging kid makers to leave their Boulder homes and join together to make something.

Most recently Maker Boulder held the Cardboard Challenge at Horizon’s K-8. 150 Boulderites

Eating fresh, organic, locally produced food is an ideal most of us would love to achieve daily. It can be done. There are ways to cut costs without cutting quality.

First, this is the perfect time of year to harvest food yourself. Places like Miller Farms offer tractor rides into fields where you can pick your own organic bounty right out of the ground. No tree hugging required, but bring a shovel or you may find yourself hugging the stalks of deeply rooted vegetables to no avail. For the best deal and great memories gather friends and go for the group discount. At Miller Farms each person can bring up to 5 bags of fresh produce home. 5 full bags is a lot of produce. A LOT! Be ready to freeze, can, cook and even gift the neighbors a bag because

Saturday's game against Oregon State had fans on the edge of their seat right up to the very end. While Oregon's win 36-31, wasn't the outcome Buffalo fans were hoping for, it was a nail biter! Boulder didn't disappoint with a vibrant blue sky day. It reminded how fortunate we are to have a home in Boulder. It that has so much to offer its residents including football, sunshine and 70 degree temps in October.

For me, a CU alum, it was a very special game. While we've made our home in Boulder for over 20 years, it was my son's first college football game. He loved it almost as much I loved taking him. It brought up an important subject, not just football, breast cancer. The players wore pink shoe laces and pink accessories to raise awareness
