Boulder Housing Bubble

Is Boulder real estate experiencing another housing bubble? We asked our experts and here is what they had to say.

FACT: Denver Metro Home Value Is Soaring

Denver Metro is one of the fortunate areas when home values have seen a steady increase, making it a great place to invest in a home. Home values here have increased 8.4% since May 2014. That's a greater increase for homes in neighborhoods such as Dakota Ridge, North Boulder and Pearl Street, for example, than any other metropolitan areas. Getting in now means you'll see a greater return on your real estate investment.

FACT: Boulder's Price Per Square Foot is Growing Fast

"DOGS ARE NOT OUR WHOLE LIVES BUT THEY SOMEHOW MAKE OUR LIVES WHOLE."

Growing up in Boulder my family adopted dogs from the Humane Society in Boulder so when I finally decided it was time to Cyndy and Greg Smithget a dog as an adult I naturally adopted from HSBV. It was love at first site, or sit, when I first met Romeo. Many folks say that dogs pick you like Romeo did when he sat on my foot and captured my heart at our first encounter, and I completely agree. A week after adopting Romeo I met my husband, Greg, who had the sweetest Rottweiler named Lexie, and we soon became one big happy "blended" family. We both loved canines so much that we decided if we weren't able to have kids, we adopt lots of dogs. Lucky for us, a human child

Is clutter carrying you away? Leaving you dazed and confused in the midst of it all? Here are some easy solutions from organization to decluttering.

Organizing Clutter

Contain It And Label it

Baking supplies are a big space eater. Label two storage tubs, one Frosting Supplies and the other Baking Supplies. If it doesn’t fit in the box it goes. The boxes stack for easy access and keep everything dust free and all together.

Queen Basket

In the movie “The Queen” her assistant places items for her Majesty in the “Queen Basket.” Adapt the royal inspiration into a 4 inch deep letter size basket by your front door. Sunglasses, cell phones, unopened mail, random stuff, goes there until the weekend when you can deal with the items. It’s

We are fortunate enough to be able to provide our children with buckets of LEGOs and more American Dolls than I'm willing to admit. When it came time for my twin's 8th birthday I gave them a choice. They could have 8 friends each at their Slackline party in our backyard and accept gifts or they could invite as many as they wanted (within reason!) and accept donations for the charity of their choice.

One of my prouder mommy moments...they chose their friends and Boulder Human Society over birthday presents. This is only made more impressive by the fact they agreed! We've adopted several of our pets from Boulder Humane Society and randomly visit the cats and dogs there just because we can. It was a natural choice for them.

Let's be honest, most

Dear Sophie & Phoebe,

When we adopted you several years ago, we may have rescued you from a lonely existence or a terrifying fate, but you also rescued us. Inviting you into our family was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. You have improved the quality of our lives in so many surprising and special ways. The love that you bring to our family is brilliant and your companionship over the years has been a tremendous source of joy.  We treat you “like family” because you are family.

Though this list is surely endless, here are just ten of the gifts you continue to share with us:

  1. Love. With all of our human strengths and challenges, you still manage to love us unconditionally.
  2. Forgiveness.
