Puttin’ on the Leash is the Boulder Humane Society’s annual fundraiser. This year’s theme is super heroes, which means a four-legged fashion show of super pups is in the making. The event will be held at the Coors Event Center, University of Colorado Boulder campus, April 26th at 6pm.
General admission is $65. This may not get you a seat at a table, but it gets you in the door for all the fun. Start off by tasting and sipping on some of Boulder’s finest. You will find food from 20 local restaurants and caterers with plenty of local beer and wine selections to quench your thirst. As you finish off that beer, make your rounds at the silent auction. Browse through over 600 items graciously donated by area companies to support our four-legged friends here in Boulder.
Maybe you’d rather have a table, a place to sit and socialize. These tickets are $125 a seat, or be the awesome friend and snag a whole table that seats eight for $1000. Tables give you front row seating for the pup fashion show and the live auction. The live auction includes great vacation packages, from a simple Vail Mountain Getaway to an all-inclusive trip for two to Saint Lucia.
Just remember, all of the money raised from this event helps the Humane Society here in Boulder. Since 1902, their mission has been to “protect and enhance the lives of companion animals by promoting healthy relationships between pets and people” (www.boulderhumane.org ). This organization does so much for our furry friends that it’s hard not to get involved. If you can’t make the event, the Humane Society is always looking for volunteers and donations of cat and dog food. Just be careful, it’s hard to visit without leaving with a new friend.
Get out your capes and come have an amazing night supporting a worthy cause.
