"Over the years, there have been several buyers I've worked with who have made terrible buying decisions. Most often it was because they focused far too much on the home and not enough on the neighborhood and community. They got caught up in the "shiny object" and didn't focus on their long-term plans.

One couple stands out in particular. They purchased a larger home with many great features. The home checked many of the boxes from a housing standpoint, especially in relation to others they viewed. The problem was that the community didn't have the best reputation from an education standpoint. Their plan was to have kids and give them a great school system.

They didn't give this enough thought and ended up selling the home a few years later because they quickly had a child. The street they purchased on was also busier.
