Most people know the golden rule of real estate is location, location, location; which applies today more than ever in our revitalized Colorado market. When considering exactly what location is best for you and your family to buy in, there are many things to factor like crime rates, city taxes, relationship to work, immediate amenities and of course, the surrounding schools. In fact, school districts are usually one of the top considerations for families with children and even for those who do not have any. This is because receiving the best education you can without having to travel outside of your immediate area will help to set up your family for success down the line. In addition it also helps tremendously with resale values and adds to the lure of a particular home. Recently, The Daily Beast powered by Newsweek released their list of the top 2000 schools in America and we are so proud that several, 40 to be specific, of our Colorado schools made the list.
At the top for Colorado is the Lafayette Peak to Peak Charter School, which received a ranking of 49 out of 2000! Most locals and residents living in Lafayette real estate already know this school is considered the best in our state, but thanks to this report, the word is out! I’m certain the Lafayette area neighborhoods will see a rise in interest from homebuyers who are looking to relocate simply because of this fact. Peak to Peak received a 1.2 for AP and IB tests, a 100% college bound rate, an 1823 average SAT score and a 25.5 for the average ACT score. This school is located at 800 Merlin Dr in Lafayette close to W South Boulder Road, and offers college prep in a small school environment. Furthermore, the school’s surrounding community of Downtown and Historic Lafayette is considered one of the most popular residential areas in the city.
Second on the list for Colorado is Fairview High School, which came in at 98!
