32nd Annual Let’s Bag Hunger  Food Drive

Hunger and poverty are issues no individual or family should ever have to face. Unfortunately, food insecurity is a widespread issue throughout the world and even in our own backyards. In fact, there are 14,000 children living in poverty in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley School Districts alone.

Thankfully, organizations have been created to combat these issues head on. Community Food Share was created to be a leader in the community’s effort to end hunger in Boulder and Broomfield counties. The organization collects food and money in order to provide meals to those in need. Although they work year round to end hunger, they are currently focused on the 32nd annual ‘Let’s Bag Hunger Food

Saturday's game against Oregon State had fans on the edge of their seat right up to the very end. While Oregon's win 36-31, wasn't the outcome Buffalo fans were hoping for, it was a nail biter! Boulder didn't disappoint with a vibrant blue sky day. It reminded how fortunate we are to have a home in Boulder. It that has so much to offer its residents including football, sunshine and 70 degree temps in October.

For me, a CU alum, it was a very special game. While we've made our home in Boulder for over 20 years, it was my son's first college football game. He loved it almost as much I loved taking him. It brought up an important subject, not just football, breast cancer. The players wore pink shoe laces and pink accessories to raise awareness

The YMCA is known as the foundation in many communities across the United States, especially if you have children. In Colorado this could not be more true, specifically in the area of Boulder County which is known for its family friendly lifestyle and outstanding community resources. Being a YMCA kid myself, I know the value of their after school programs as well as their swimming and sports programs. I treasure the experiences I had growing up there. In addition to these resources provided for children, they offer valuable adult services as well, including classes, workshops, fitness programs and more. Without the help of countless volunteers and supporters, the YMCA could not offer the plethora of programs they do. As the largest nonprofit in the United
